THESSALONIKI

Thessaloniki, the beauty queen of northern Greece is the second biggest city in Greece, having a population of over one million.The port of the city provides all the yachting facilities, as its commerce port is the second biggest port in the country, the first being that in Pereus. The boats are served in the marina of Aretsou in Kalamaria which is an organised marina providing every facility (fuelling, water, electric current, service facility, diver, etc.). Thessaloniki is known for its intense night life. Also, the promenade road is ideal for walking. Some of the landmarks in the city of Thessaloniki are:

- the White Tower which dominates the city's beach promenade.

- Genti Koule which along with the White Tower were the fotresses of the city throughout the vizantium period.

- The Old Town where you can see many traditional buildings which are now preserved by the government.

- Inumerable vyzantium period churches dating back to the first years of the Vyzantium. The most well-known are the Church

of Saint Demetrios, Vlatadon Monastery, the Acheropioitos Church and many more.

- The City's Arch (Kamara) dating back to the roman period.

- The famous Ladadika, a renovated neighbourhood with traditional buildings, where the visitor can find many tavernas

and bars.

- The picturesque market of Modiano, and the fish market where you can also find excellent tavernas and bars.

What is an unforgettable experience for most visitors in Thessaloniki is the food. In the restaurants and tavernas in Thessaloniki you can taste traditional Greek dishes and enjoy the famous Greek cuisine. There is an abundance of tavernas, restaurants, lounge bars, fish taverns and kebab shops- the famous souvlaki, throughout the city. CHALKIDIKI - Marmaras, Porto Karras, Porto Koufo, Sani

 

Chalkidiki is a wonderful destination for your vacation. Its coastal side is divided in three long land parts, Kassandra, Sithonia and Agio Oros. Chalkidiki is known for its greenery and the crystal clear waters and beaches. There are many sandy beaches satisfying every taste, even the most demanding visitor. You will see many pinewood trees just above the coastal line, which sometimes even reach the sea. The visitor can also taste traditional Greek cuisine and visit some quaint villages, such as Parthenon in N.Marmara Sithonia, or Afitos in Kassandra.

SKOPELOS - Skopelos, Agnontas, Glossa

Skopelos is the island with the most greenery in Greece. It is particularly known for its dense forests and the blue sea that surrounds it. For this reason, in 5-7-97, it was officially awarded as “the green and blue island” from the International Organisation of Biopolitics. It is the second largest island in the Sporades islands' complex, Skyros is the largest, and there are approximately 5700 permanent residents.

SKIATHOS

Skiathos is the smallest but most cosmopolitan island in the northern Sporades. It is full of greenery and here you can find some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece. It is well known for its night life.

ALLONISOS Patitiri, Steni Vala

Allonisos is the quietest island in the Sporades and an ideal choice for nature lovers and those who seek for peaceful and relaxing vacations. It is known for its plenty beautiful beaches as well as the National Sea Park where endangered species, such as the Mediterrenean Seal (Monachus Monachus) are protected.
Of particular beauty is the old village of Allonisos where you can see many traditional refurbished buildings.

SKYROS Linaria

Skyros is the largest island in the Sporades and one of the very few islands in the Aegean Sea which has not been affected by mass tourism. It retains its traditional features and identity and it attracts the visitor with the scent of luxury that its traditional architecture inspires. Even though it belongs to the Sporades complex, its architecture resembles that of the Cyclades. The northern part of the island is full of green and the southern part is rocky.

LIMNOS Limnos, Moudros

Limnos is in the middle of the southern Aegean Sea and is the 8th largest in size island in Greece. It is an impressive volcanic island, with golden beaches, crystal clear waters, traditional villages, archaelogical sites and popular natural products known from antiquity, such as wine, honey, cheese and fish. The Enetian castle lies above the capital of the island, Mirina.


 
 
   

AGIOS EFSTRATIOS

Agios Efstratios lying on a surface of 42 sq.km is 21 miles away from Limnos and is one of the most "misjudged" islands in the Aegean Sea as it was mainly known as a place where people where sent in exile during the civil war. The village is relatively new as after the destructive earthquake in 1968, the residents abandoned the old village and built a new one. An ideal destination for peacefulness, isolation and clear waters.

THASOS

Thasos, the emerald island, is in the most southern part of the Aegean Sea lying on a surface of 379 sq. km. Its distance from the town of Kavala is 12 miles, and it is known for its lacelike, sandy beaches and the pine-trees that literally lie above the sea. The beauty of the surrounding is completed by white rocks.
Limenas is the capital village of the island. What is worth visiting is the archeological site in Limenas, the archeological museum of Thasos, Vagi museum, the palace, the Virgin's Church and the monastery of Archangel Michael.

SAMOTHRACE

Samothrace belongs to the complex of the islands in the northeastern Aegean Sea. It is the ideal destination for nature lovers that have a need to relax and rest. It is also the ideal place for walking in the woods, mountaineering, birdwatching of rare species of birds, crystal spring waters, waterfalls, and visiting archeological sites, the Victory of Samothrace being the most popular finding in the sites of the area.

 
   

VOLOS

Volos is the capital of the prefecture of Magnisia, which is a perfect combination of the way of living in the mountains and that nearby the sea. The city is built just on the foot of Pilio mount and is surrounded by the Gulf of Pagasitikos, thus giving the possibility to have excursions to both destinations. Its harbour serves both commercial and tourist purposes, offering protection from almost all weather conditions. It used to be mainly an industrial centre;however, nowadays is a city that attracts a lot of tourists, having a particular friendly and hospitable character. It offers all the amenitiesof a big city, fuel and water supply, food market, service facilityetc. It worths visiting the centre of the town to go shopping, try getting the local train service for an excursion to the villages of Pilio Mount,visiting as many of them as posssible, the inumerable tavernas inVolos where you can taste the famous local 'tsipouro' drink (you should be aware that drinking too much can give you a hangover!), the Tsalapata building block, an old tile factory which has been refurbished and now offers a very good and stylish choice to go out eating, having a drink or even organising receptions.It is worth visiting.

OLD TRIKERI

This little island lies in the inner southern part of the peninsula of Magnisia. It is a little jewel which offers tranquility, clear waters, freshly-made fish titbits, and isolation from the hectic rythms from today's society. The Virgin's Monastery dominates the hill on the island. Discover it!
